Practical Info
Conference costs
The early registration fee for astronomers is USD 200.- and USD 100.- for
students and accompanying persons.
This includes conference materials, opening reception,
coffeebreaks, closing dinner, and the afternoon excursion.
Late registration fees (after Jan 20th) are USD 250,- and USD 150.-,
respectively.
Not included in the registration fee is the barbeque lunch at the
afternoon excursion (10 thousand pesos, please pay at registration desk).
Meals and events
The registration and welcome reception
will be at the Hotel El Araucano, Sunday, 5 March, from 18:00 to 21:00.
A Southern-sky observing night will be at the group's small telescope, Monday, 6 March, 21:30.
A public talk en español will be given by
L. Infante at the conference auditorium, Tuesday, 7 March, 20:00.
An optional recreational excursion will take place
on Wednesday, 8 March, approx. 13:30-21:00.
The conference dinner will be at the Hotel El Araucano,
Thursday, 9 March, 20:00.

Presentations
The talks will be pre-loaded onto one of two conference computers,
one running Windows XP, the other running Mac OS X,
both of which can handle Powerpoint and PDF formats.
An overhead transparency projector will also be available.

The talks should be provided no later than one day in advance.
Delivery options include USB memory stick, CD, DVD, and
ftp (see details sent by email).
First-day speakers should deliver their talks by the Sunday night reception at the latest.
Posters are strictly allocated a space of 73cm wide x 120cm high.
Internet access
There will
wireless internet access
available around
the conference auditorium (outside of session times;
English connection instructions for XP and Linux
available here),
as well as various places on campus.
If you won't have a laptop with wireless capability,
you can go online at one of several internet cafes in the
city -- see this map.
