The meeting was also attended by the academic vice-rector, Ernesto Figueroa, and the dean of the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Rodolfo Araya.

In the meeting, held in our coffee room, many important topics were discussed on the future growth of the Department.

In addition to the meeting, the Rector visited the different sections of the institute including the Radio-Astronomy Laboratory (RL), where he observed, first hand, the work by the team developing astronomical instrumentation.
