Teaching
I am currently (since March 2013) the Chair of the undergraduate program in
astronomy of the University of
Concepción (UdeC) in Chile. In July 2009, I joined
its Department of
Astronomy where I teach to students of the astronomy career. My favorite
subjects are extragalactic astrophysics, observational cosmology,
and galaxy spectroscopy.
In previous years, I have been invited lecturer at the Johns Hopkins University and the
University of California
at Riverside (UCR). At UCR, I also assisted in the supervision
of students working on the reduction of multi-object spectroscopy
data and the interpretation of galaxy spectra. Between 1994 and
1998, in addition to being an undergraduate physics student, I
worked as a teaching assistant of several courses in physics and
astronomy for undergraduate students in science and engineering at
the Pontificia
Universidad Católica de Chile.
