About me
I'm an Assistant Professor at the Astronomy Department at Universidad de Concepción, Chile and Leader of a Max Planck Partner Group that investigates the baryon cycle in galaxies accross cosmic time . Before that I was a Postdoctoral Fellow working at the IR/Sub-millimeter group at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics. I obtained my PhD at the Astronomy Department of the University of Maryland working with Prof. Alberto Bolatto funded by a Fulbright fellowship. My main research interest are the study of star formation and the multi-phase interstellar medium of nearby and high-z galaxies.

¿Curva o Plana?
Nuestra Tierra...¿es curva o plana? Este proyecto tiene por objetivo impulsar la medición de la curvatura de la Tierra utilizando el milenario método del astrónomo griego Eratóstenes. Para ello necesitaremos de la colaboración de la mayor cantidad de colegios a lo largo de Chile.

"Planifica tu Eclipse"
El 14 de Diciembre del 2020 la región de la Araucanía en Chile fue testigo de un evento maravilloso: un eclipse total de Sol o Lai Antü (la muerte del Sol) cómo lo describe el pueblo Mapuche. Gracias al apoyo de fondos de la ESO y el Departamento de Astronomía UdeC realizamos actividades para informar acerca del eclipse, incluyendo la transmisión en vivo del eclipse desde la costanera de Villarica.
