Dr. Arti Rani

During Ph.D (Radiation thermometry), Feb 2015, she worked as a Research project under UGC, University Grant Commission Government of India funded project entitled “Experimental studies on accurate measurement of high temperature of radiating sources by using spectral pyrometric techniques” at National Physical Laboratory (CSIR) ), New Delhi India. One year she worked European Society Post-Doctoral Fellow National Physical Laboratory,TW110LW, UK (London)“Au/pt thermocouple: Construction, characterization and reference function (2014).

She has joined the Astronomy Department by september 2016, working as postdoc under the supervision with Prof Rodrigo Reeves. She is working development of astronomical instruments and water vapor radiometer and calibration load (LLAMA), covering frequencies from the radio through the sub-millimeter.

Research Interests:, Astronomical instrumentation, Millimeter and sub-millimeter detection techniques, Cryogenic system for astronomy, Testing and characterization of sensitive cryogenic detectors, Characterization techniques in different thermal environments, Multi-element arrays for radio astronomy, Digitally versatile systems for processing of astronomical signals and control.
